The India–Korea Forum (IKF) successfully organized the India–Korea Forum on Artificial Intelligence 2026 on Saturday, 4 July 2026, at Ewha Womans University, Seoul, under the theme “Fostering India–Korea AI Cooperation in a New Digital Era.”
The forum brought together a distinguished gathering of government representatives, policymakers, AI experts, academics, researchers, startup founders, entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, industry leaders, and next-generation innovators from India and the Republic of Korea to discuss the future of artificial intelligence and opportunities for bilateral cooperation.
The event commenced with Welcoming Remarks by Prof. Rajiv Kumar, Founder & Director of the India–Korea Forum, who emphasized the strategic importance of strengthening India–Korea collaboration in artificial intelligence, innovation, education, startups, and emerging technologies.
A special video message delivering the Opening Remarks was shared by H.E. Gourangalal Das, Ambassador of India to the Republic of Korea, who highlighted the growing importance of India–Korea cooperation in AI and emerging technologies. Representing the Embassy of India, Ms. Sanjana Arya, First Secretary, attended the forum as the Guest of Honor.
The forum also featured Congratulatory Remarks by Ms. Yeokyung Yoon, Director, Department of Global Partnership for Startups, Korea Institute of Startup & Entrepreneurship Development (KISED) under the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, Republic of Korea. The Keynote Address was delivered by Prof. David (Bong Jun) Choi, Professor at Soongsil University and Director of the Distributed Intelligence Lab, who shared his vision on the future of artificial intelligence and global collaboration.
Throughout the day, participants explored a wide range of topics, including AI governance, national AI strategies, AI entrepreneurship, healthcare, education, language technologies, semiconductors, venture capital, trustworthy AI, digital transformation, and India–Korea cooperation in emerging technologies. The forum featured presentations by distinguished experts from leading universities, research institutions, startups, venture capital firms, and technology companies across India and Korea.
A major highlight of the event was the official launch of the inaugural issue of 『IKF 인도브리프 (IKF India Brief)』, the flagship Korean-language publication of the India–Korea Forum. As the first Korean-language magazine dedicated exclusively to India, IKF India Brief aims to strengthen understanding of India’s political, economic, technological, business, and strategic developments while promoting deeper India–Korea engagement through research and knowledge exchange.
The forum concluded with an engaging networking session, enabling participants to exchange ideas and explore new opportunities for collaboration in research, innovation, startups, investment, education, and policy.
The successful organization of the forum reaffirmed the India–Korea Forum’s commitment to serving as a leading platform for dialogue and cooperation between India and Korea. By bringing together government, academia, industry, and young leaders, the forum contributed to advancing a future-oriented partnership built on innovation, technology, and shared prosperity.
