We were pleased to feature Shruti Mishra, MA student in International Relations at Korea University, at the India–Korea Forum 2026 held in Seoul ahead of the upcoming India–Korea Summit.

In her remarks, she highlighted how the concept of security is rapidly evolving in today’s interconnected world. Moving beyond traditional military definitions, she emphasized that peace now depends on the stability and resilience of technological, economic, and communication systems. She pointed out that India–South Korea cooperation in emerging technologies, particularly AI, presents a unique opportunity to bridge the gap between global rule-making and real-world implementation.

She further underscored the strategic importance of semiconductor collaboration in reducing supply chain vulnerabilities and strengthening global economic stability. In addition, she drew attention to often-overlooked critical infrastructure such as undersea cables, noting their essential role in global connectivity and the urgent need to enhance their repair capacity and resilience.

Her reflections underscored a critical point:
➡️ In an increasingly competitive and uncertain global environment, the India–South Korea partnership can play a vital role in building stronger norms, resilient systems, and long-term stability.

At a time when technology and geopolitics are deeply intertwined, deepening India–Korea cooperation across critical sectors is more important than ever.
